Every dancer holds a light uniquely their own-unseen by many, but undeniable when shared. This is a season of courage. Of clarity. Of choosing to shine not because we’re unafraid, but because we finally see who we are beyond the reflection.
Our Program
Our unique, small-company setting offers young artists concert-based dance training with a competition element. Dancers train in classical ballet, modern, and jazz techniques. We are a technique-focused studio that exposes dancers to all styles, including modern, contemporary, and hip hop.
Director and company-owner Giovanni Allen received his early training at New York City’s Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and American Ballet Theater. He created Groundworks Dance Company as a positive place for dancers to grow as people and artists. Now in its eighth season, his dancers have received numerous awards, and many go on to pursue dance education after high school or professional careers.
